Ken grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, the heart of country music. He never left his roots, staying in Tennessee to receive a B.S. in business management from Tennessee Tech University. As an avid sports fan and outdoorsman, Ken played college baseball and can often be found fishing in professional tournaments across the Southeast. He lives a life that in many ways mimics the songs he sings.
Ken, his wife, and daughter make their home in Cookeville, Tennessee, where he has worked with Farm Bureau Insurance since 1995, a job that helps him connect with real people. His natural presence before crowds radiates through his songs. Listeners often look twice to make sure that it is not really Merle Haggard or Gene Watson up on stage. Ken has performed professionally in Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, and Florida, prior to joining The Backroads Band, now the Tennessee BackRoads Band as lead vocalist in 2004.
